Jaipur – First Planned City of India – Pink City

Jaipur, the first planned city of India, is completely color-washed in pink. Miles and miles of pink buildings. Can you just imagine? The pink color was used to create an impression of red sandstone buildings of Mughal cities and it was repainted in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales. To this day, in Jaipur and Rajput culture, the color pink is associated with hospitality.
